Steve Harmison MBE

Steve Harmison made his England debut in 2002 and represented England in 63 Tests, 58 ODI’s and 2 T20’s. A tall, fast bowler that on his day could be the most devastating of opponents, Harmison made his name in 2004 when in the first innings of the 4th Test against the West Indies at Sabina Park, Kingston, he took a staggering 7 wickets for just 12 runs and finished the match with 9 wickets!

A double Ashes winner in 2005 and 2009, Harmison took the legendary final wicket of Michael Kasprowicz at Edgbaston and was the man to inflict that famous cut under the eye of Aussie captain Ricky Ponting. He retired from all formats of cricket in 2009 having taken 303 international wickets and has remained ever popular with England cricket fans.

Since retirement from cricket, Harmison managed his hometown football team Ashington between 2015 and 2017 and has forged a career as a broadcaster on SkySports television and TalkSPORT radio. One of the most down to earth and genuine sportsmen you’ll ever meet, Steve is also no stranger to a good story and we’re delighted to have his knowledge and personality in The Green Room at The Kia Oval.
