Royal Ascot

A quintessential summer event, Royal Ascot is one of the World’s most prestigious race meetings and a staple of the British flat racing. VIP racegoers will be in great company as the best of British society attend this event year-on-year whilst all enjoying a fabulous day of pageantry, time-honoured tradition and first class racing at Ascot Racecourse. Stunning fashion, gourmet dining, exhilarating racing along with the customary champagne and Pimms, all combine to make this famous British summer event the perfect day out.

Dating back to 1786 Royal Ascot is a time-honoured tradition that welcomes 300,000 visitors over the race meeting. Across the five days, guests are treated to 33 live music acts in-between the races in which 509 horses will run.

As well as a highlight of the horse racing calendar Royal Ascot provides incredible hospitality for VIP guests. With 5 Michelin stars and 13 AA Rosettes combined Ascot guests will be treated to 56,000 bottles of Champagne, 21,000 jugs of Pimm's, 240,000 hand-crafted afternoon tea cakes, 3,500 fresh lobsters and 3,000 kilos of beef sirloin over the five days.

Dress Code

Knowing how to dress for the Royal Ascot is an art. Your attire will vary based on the enclosures you’ve got tickets to. But these are the broad choices for men and women.

LADIES Ladies within the Queen Anne Enclosure are encouraged to dress in a manner as befits a formal occasion

GENTLEMEN Gentlemen are required to wear a suit with jacket and trousers of the same colour and pattern with a shirt and tie. Gentlemen are kindly asked to wear a tie at all times and to note that bow ties and cravats are not allowed. Socks must be worn.

Travel Options

BY CAR Ascot Racecourse offers easy access for all racegoers, wherever their departure point. It is located close to the M3, M4, M40 and M25. If you are arriving by car, please note that roads around the racecourse may be congested and journey times may be up to 40% longer due to the high number of visitors. Peak travel times are between 11am and 1pm.

For an easier drive to your car park, it is important that you follow the designated colour-coded travel signs, which match your car park label (rather than follow satellite navigation).

BY TRAIN Ascot train station is a 10-minute walk from the racecourse. Should you wish to travel by train from London, you may be interested in The Ascot Express. The Ascot Express, which runs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, is a direct Royal Ascot train service from London Waterloo with a guaranteed seat.
