Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world, it allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving - Beyoncé
Do not panic! Beyoncé is heading on her Renaissance World Tour, which was accidently confirmed at the Met Gala in a charity auction where the surprise announcement was made!
On 19th July 2022, she released her seventh studio album, Act 1: Renaissance. Her latest release became one of the hottest albums of the summer, with the lead single “Break my Soul,” generating millions of plays. She discussed the inspiration behind the new album, stating that “Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world, it allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving”.
She played in stadiums across the UK during her most recent tour with Jay-Z in 2018, also headlining Coachella. So, after a long break from touring fans are eager to see her live, awaiting the official announcement to see the ‘Queen’ herself perform live in concert.
Beyoncé began her musical debut at the age of 12 with the girl group ‘Girl Tyme’, which later became the legendary band ‘Destiny’s Child’. Most of their songs, including the racy “Bootylicious,” were written by her. Beyoncé later referred to her time spent with the group as a “defining experience” in her youth. When the band split up to focus on their respective projects, she used her song writing skills to create her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, in 2003.
With nine Grammy nominations this year, Beyoncé is on track to tie her husband Jay-Z as the most nominated artist in Grammy history with 88 nominations. However, she will be competing against stars such as Harry Styles, Adele, Lamar, and Lizzo in order to win.
Beyoncé has always however enjoyed Billboard Hot 100 success. After achieving no.1’s in the 90’s, 2000’s and 2010’s, Beyoncé was again back at the top spot with her appearance on Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’ remix in 2020.
Her successes include; seven studio albums, two Super Bowl performances, appearing in blockbuster movies and launching clothing lines. Beyoncé’s achievements to date have been tremendous, earning her the title ‘Queen Bey’.
Beyoncé will be remembered as one of the most significant female musicians of the twenty-first century and she will make her long-awaited comeback to the UK at various stadium locations during a 2023 tour. Keep your eyes peeled for more info when official hospitality goes on sale.
