Prior to 2023, global superstar Taylor Swift had not been on the road since her Reputation Stadium Tour all the way back in 2018! Her fanatical tribe of loyal ‘Swifties’ had to wait five years until Taylor graced the stage again.
Shortly after the release of her ‘Midnights’ album, Swift announced The Eras Tour on 1 November 2022 with a whopping 52 US dates spanning March-August 2023. The internet nearly went into meltdown as fans clamoured for tickets and news of her record-breaking billion-dollar comeback tour.
Since The Eras Tour got underway in Glendale, Arizona social media has been ablaze with updates and as the tour progressed around the USA, news of each show has been littering the headlines of every big magazine and news outlet.
‘’Eras tour tops Springsteen for the biggest 2023 tour’’, said Forbes and having announced multiple dates across Latin America and her European dates in 2024, there will be plenty more of Taylor to enjoy!
Setlist and Surprise Songs
With many fans and critics thinking this new tour would be packed with songs from her latest album, think again. All the talk was proved wrong on her first day of the tour as Taylor delivered 44 stunning songs ranging from albums like Lover, Folklore, Evermore and Midnights.
What’s more, the global superstar has continued to bring surprises each and every night of her tour. Each US evening featured a unique duo of surprise songs, delivering a truly special viewing experience for her fans and bringing much speculation before each gig.
Eras Tour Atmosphere
Fans are not only excited to see their favourite artist live but the whole concert is set to be an incredible experience. Much like the previous Love on Tour experience with Harry Styles, attendees dress up in themed costumes to reflect their favourite Taylor Swift album or “era” of her music. So if you’re looking to have the best time possible, make sure to have your outfit picked out to avoid missing out on the fun!
What’s more, you may have seen that friendship bracelets are a huge part of the Eras tour experience. Bracelets containing different lyrics, song names or album names are passed and swapped around at concerts, as well as given to the various celebrity guests in attendance. Be sure to make or grab one as a keepsake of your incredible evening in Taylor’s company.
Eras Ticket Sales
Eras ticket sales were a little more complicated than usual, with links to enter the queue sent out only to those who signed up via email months in advance. And even then, tickets are not guaranteed. Ticket sales have been through the roof, leaving the world stunned as her tickets sell out in record times, crashing websites and causing utter frenzy amongst fans.
The Daily Star reported the ‘’Eras Tour outsold the likes of Harry Styles, Bruce Springsteen, and Elton John in the USA this year,” and with an estimated 4 million fans in the UK expected to try and access just 400,000 tickets, anyone wanting to see Taylor Swift in 2024 will have to be quick!
