The Ashes Hospitality

The Ashes needs no introduction; it is the historic Test Series rivalry between England and Australia.

It began with Australia's victory over England on 29 August 1882, marking their first Test win on English soil. This was a shocking defeat for the English team, and journalist Reginald Shirley Brooks published a satirical obituary for English cricket in The Sporting Times, declaring "In Affectionate Remembrance of English Cricket, which died at the Oval on 29th August, 1882... The body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia". England captain Ivo Bligh vowed to "regain those ashes" and, to commemorate the victory, was presented with a small terracotta urn containing the remains of a cricket bail. Thus, the birth of the historic Test series and the most fiercely contested international rivalry in cricket.

The Ashes returns to English soil with England looking to reclaim the Ashes for the first time in over a decade. Enquire now to secure your VIP & Hospitality package.
