How do I get to Aintree?
Aintree Racecourse is around 15 minutes from Liverpool city centre. It’s easily reached by train, with Aintree Station directly opposite the racecourse. Merseyrail will run a special timetable for the Grand National Festival in April, with a seven-and-a-half-minute frequency of service operating between Liverpool City Centre and Aintree Station before the start and after the finish of the races on each day of the festival.
If you're travelling by car, you can reach Aintree via the M57, M58 and M62 motorways. The best drop-off and pick-up point is in front of The Queens Arms pub on Ormskirk Road, just outside Grand National Avenue.

What's the difference between a standard ticket and a hospitality package at the Grand National?
A standard ticket at the Grand National grants basic entry and access to public areas. At the same time, hospitality packages add a private base, premium food and drinks, and in most cases, better views and service for a VIP-style day.
Standard Tickets:
- Entry to the racecourse and access to public enclosures and viewing areas specified on your ticket (e.g. Festival Zone, Tattersalls, etc)
- Food and drinks are paid extras from bars and concessions.
- No reserved seating or base for the day; you will have to find your own spot in the stands or around the course.
Hospitality Package:
- Entry into the racecourse, plus a reserved spot in a restaurant, lounge, suite, or private box for the whole day.
- Usually features premium catering (breakfast on arrival, multi-course lunch, afternoon tea) and a complimentary or inclusive bar for drinks.
